The Body Electric is a 1985 Canadian animated TV movie that combines themes from several Rush songs, particularly "The Body Electric" and "Red Sector A". The plot revolves around a domed city called Red Sector A, which was a paradise for man's machines and home to the last of the human race. One day, a mysterious force turned the robots against their masters, and the machines cast the people out of Red Sector A into the wastelands outside. Years later, the robots have collapsed into dust without human maintenance, leaving two young people, Woody and Andrea, to live in the city. They have a few hours to escape as the city is about to explode due to the shield generator approaching meltdown.

The movie is set to the music of Canadian prog rock veterans Rush and features a story about the relationship between man and machine.
It is considered an interesting piece of sci-fi from the mid-80s, though some viewers find the story too short to work properly.

The art style is generally pleasing, and the concepts are intriguing, but the voice acting is often described as painful.
Despite these shortcomings, the movie is a treat for Rush fans and has an entertainment value for others.
