WHO Director General announces the launch of the Global Digital Certification Network

On June 5, 2023, the World Health Organization's Director General, Tedros Ghebreyesus, announced the launch of the Global Health Certification Network, in collaboration with the EU. These interoperable, international digital IDs could provide the technical platform for a Chinese-style social credit system to be implemented worldwide.
