RR beat CSK by 6 wickets in the 62nd match of IPL-25

The 62nd Match of Men’s Tata IPL-2025 was played between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi on 20th May, 2025. In this match Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets. In this match Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Chennai Super Kings while batting first scored 187 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 188 runs to Rajasthan Royals to win. In reply Rajasthan Royals scored 188 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 17.1 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
Chennai Super Kings while batting first started very poorly and lost early two wickets at the score of 12 runs in 2 overs. Devon Conway was first to go out on the fourth ball of the second over of the innings caught by Riyan Parag of the bowling of Yudhvir Singh after scoring 10 runs from 8 balls hitting 2 fours.
The new batsman Urvil Patel lasted for two balls only and went back to pavilion without scoring. He was caught by Kwena Maphaka on the last ball of over of Yudhvir Singh and Chennai were reeling at 12 runs for 2 wickets.
Then Ravichandran Ashwin with Ayush Mahatre played beautifully and added 56 runs from 24 balls for the third wicket and consolidated the ininnings of CSK. Ayush Mahatre was third wicket to fall and missed the well deserved half century. He scored 43 runs from 20 balls hitting 8 fours and 1 six. He was caught by Kwena Maphaka of the bowling of Tushar Despande.
Ravichandran Ashwin also got out immediately after just adding 2 runs to the score.He was removed by Wanindu Hasaranga caught brilliantly by Shimron Hetmyer after scoring 13 runs from 8 balls hitting 1 four and 1 six.
Ravindra Jadeja followed Ashwin after scoring one run only. He was caught by Dhruv Jurel of the bowling of Yudhvir Singh and CSK were struggling at 78 runs for 5 wickets.
Then Dewald Brevis with Shivam Dubey added 59 runs from 36 balls for the sixth wicket and brought back on track the CSK innings. But Akash Madhwal broke the partnership and bold Dewald Brevis who contributed 42 runs from 25 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Shivam Dubey continued the goog batting and added 43 runs from 33 balls with MS Dhoni for the seventh wicket and helped Chennai Super Kings to reach to respetable scroe of 187 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Shivam Dubey contributed 39 runs and MS Dhoni made 16 runs. Anshul Kamboj remained not out on 5 runs with Noor Ahmad also not out on 2 runs.
For Rajasthan Royals Yudhvir Singh and Akash Madhwal took 3 wickets each. One wicket each was taken by Tushar Deshpande and Wanindu Hasaranga. In the end CSK were restricted to 187 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 188 runs to RR to win.
In Reply Rajasthan Royals started well and their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted superbly and added 37 runs in 3.4 overs only out of which 36 runs were scored by Yashasvi Jaiswal. He was first to go out bold by Anshul Kamboj and scored well compiled quick-fire 36 runs from 19 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes.
After this Vaibhav Suryavanshi took the charge and with captain Sanju Samson added 98 runs from 59 balls and laid the solid foundation for the win. Sanju Samson was second to go out caught by Dewald Brewis of the bowling of Ravichansran Ashwin.He scored well complied 41 runs from 31 balls which included 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Then Ravichandran Ashwin also got rid of prize wicket of Vaibhav Suryavanshi caught by Ravindra Jadeja. He scored quickfire 57 runs from 33 balls hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. Riyan Parag failed in this innings and scored only 3 runs. He was bold by Noor Ahmad.
Then Dhruv Jurel with Shimron Hetmyer contributed unbeaten 30 runs from 9 balls only and won the match for RR. Dhruv Jurel played a gem of innings of 31 runs from 12 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes and remained not out. Shimron Hetmyer also remained not out on 12 runs from 5 balls hitting 1 four and one six.
Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets and one wicket each was taken by Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad. Rajasthan Royals scored 188 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 17.1 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. Akash Madhwal was adjudged the Player of the Match.
