Beaver Drop | Credits: Idaho Department of Fish and Game | A good use of parachutes | TKP

In the 1940's and 1950's, people had been moving from cities to areas with beavers (Castor canadensis). The Idaho Department of Fish and Game decided to move 76 beavers because the new residents complained about beavers cutting down trees and creating dams. The Fish and Game Department understood that beavers helped wetlands, helped to reduce erosion, and created habitat for birds and fish, so the Department wanted to move the beavers to other areas of the state.
The rangers took advantage of a surplus of parachutes following World War II to launch a program to trap and air drop beavers into the remote the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area.

The relocation of beavers has some resemblance to the displacement of Palestinians. The difference is that, despite some Zionist views, Palestinians are people and that they are being butchered by the thousands and starved while being moved from one place to another under every pretext a criminal apartheid can come up with. The truth is that, under international law, an oppressed people has the right to resist and that the most anti-Semitic action one can think of is the genocide of thousands of Semites.

Every year, around this time, I have a hard time thinking of something memorial about Memorial Day. And, looking at what's happening, it makes me sad that we haven't learned anything from our treacherous past. Nothing from the Vietnam War, nothing from the Invasion of Iraq. Instead we are upping our wrong-doings with the ultimate sin: fueling a genocide in Gaza. We befriend butchers of the Syrian and Saudi Arabian kind. We create the danger in order to give the military complex a reason for increased and unaccounted-for budgets. We create terrorist groups (like ISIS) and align with Al Qaeda fractions when convenient (Hillary Clinton said so) so then, after a while, we can pretend we are in danger, so our leaders justify their share of loot. Despite the propaganda which fooled many people around the world, myself included, for many years, once one learns history and current events from multiple sources, one starts to understand that not only don't we, as a country, stand for human rights and democracy, but, judged by our actions, we do not even abide by such international norms anymore and did not even sign many of these agreements. We used our veto power against the rest of the world 34 times because we wanted the genocide to continue. We are bombing Yemen without congress approval and bombed wherever we pleased, without congress consent, since the end of WWII. And, because we always had a tendency to mingle with (3M and Coca-Cola were doing business in Nazi Germany, why should we get involved in WWII?) and even directly support fascism (like we do in Ukraine), it was only normal to end up with a wannabe dictator in the White House. As a result, people are abducted by goons on the streets and incarcerated without judicial process. Some are transferred to foreign prisons. Teachers who speak out against injustice are being fired. Universities whom the dictator doesn't like are stripped of funds. Anti-war students are arrested, threatened and abused. And on and on...These are scenes which we were told belonged to demonic countries like Russia and China. Running out of ideas of how to farther demonize and divide the peace-loving part of our society, and having no understanding of how ridiculous their efforts are, they are now saying that the truth is a Russian talking point. Because they've been harming so many people, so many countries, criminals are now afraid of their own shadows and are now working full time at deporting everyone and anyone who they perceive as a threat. The problem is that, while they deserve the criminal culture they created, the rest of us don't deserve to feel unsafe. Personally, I have never felt in more danger of traveling inside the country and abroad than I am now.

I will probably have an easier time, around this yearly holiday, when my fellow Americans will understand that THE ONLY WAY to end terrorism is to stop terrorizing. I will have an easier time when I'll see the signs of well-informed, socially-minded and peace-inclined voters at the booth. Till then, enjoy the video and subscribe, if you are a human being.

To any veteran that may read my words, please know that I do not condemn you for not understanding what you were getting into when you signed up to defend our country. I do not condemn you for wanting to go to the schooling promised by your employers, for wanting a job, some adventure, for not knowing the history. I do not condemn you because, most of you finally understand, upon retiring, that you have been mislead and put in danger (burn pits, depleted uranium) while endangering others (Iraq invasion).
