Its not a Celebration, It is a Remembrance

A true American hero once wrote words that every person in this nation should read — and feel.

Here's some ground rules for next weekend:
1. Don't wish me a Happy Memorial Day. There is nothing happy about brave men and women dying.
2. It's not a holiday. It's a remembrance.
3. If you want to know the true meaning, visit Arlington or your local VA, not freaking Disneyland.
4. Don't tell me how great any one political power is. Tell me about
PFC Cody, Grater CW2 Stan Harriman, MSG Arthur Lilly, SFC Matthew Sluss-Tiller, SFC David Hartman, SSG Kashif Memon, SGT Keith Kline, MAJ James Ahearn, CW2 Scott Dyer, SFC Perdo Munoz, MAJ Robert Lindenau.
Chesty Puller, George Patton, John Basilone, Dakota Meyer, Kyle Carpenter, Mitchell Paige, Ira Hayes, Chris Kyle,
and many other heroes too numerous to name.
Attend a Bell Ceremony and shed some tears.
5. Don't tell me I don't know what I am talking about. I have carried the burden all too many times for my warriors who now stand their post for God.
6. Say a prayer... and then another.
7. Remember the Fallen for all the Good they did while they were here.
8. Reach out and let a Vet know you're there, we're losing too many in "peace".

As we enjoy the sunshine, gather with loved ones, and fire up the grill, we must pause and remember: this day was not set aside for celebration. It was carved into our calendar in blood and sacrifice.
The image below shows just a small fraction of Arlington National Cemetery — row upon row of headstones, each one a life laid down for our freedom. It's not just a cemetery; it's a battlefield of silence where freedom's true cost is forever marked in stone.
Memorial Day is not a holiday. It is a solemn reminder.
Behind every folded flag is a family that will never be whole again. Behind every name is a story of courage, duty, and ultimate sacrifice.
May we never take our freedoms for granted.
May we never forget the price paid.
Their sacrifice is our inheritance — and our responsibility to honor.
