Biography
Dr. Baumgaertel’s internal medicine practice began in 1996, and encompassed many types of clinical work over the years. She pivoted in early 2021 to start her own business, responding to pressures of healthcare corporatization and consolidation. She now provides medical consultation and advocacy services to patients in WA state, also serving as a professional compass to colleagues across the country who want to shift careers. Her passion for helping women led her to develop a free website, MenopauseMenu, a community hub for physical and emotional support. She self-published "The Menopause Menu” in 2023 and has just completed a chapter for another book due out this year. Dr. B. enjoys speaking at national conferences, giving lectures, podcasts, blogging, and she puts her creative energy into taking pictures of nature on her daily walks.
