The Chicago Police Department responded to a shots fired call earlier today. Upon arrival, officers discovered four spent shell casings in the street and one on the porch of the residence. The victim reported that her car alarm alerted her to two unknown suspects attempting to steal her catalytic converter. A verbal confrontation ensued, during which the suspects allegedly fired shots at the victim, who returned fire in self-defense.

The suspects fled the scene, with one escaping eastbound through an alley in a Honda CRV (license plate unknown) and the other fleeing northbound on foot. No injuries were reported, and the victim declined EMS services. The victim’s firearm was inventoried by officers.
