Police in Durango, Colorado, had to recapture Irwin, a pet kangaroo who escaped for the second time.

Now too big to hop into a pouch-like bag as he did last fall, Irwin was eventually cornered and caught by an officer with farm experience.

He was safely returned home, the Associated Press has reported.

As Irwin grows, authorities warn he’ll become harder to catch and stress the importance of responsible exotic pet ownership.
