John Heilman: Serving with Purpose at Blue Water Area Rescue Mission

John Heilman is already making a meaningful impact in Michigan’s Blue Water region through his role as a Life Advisor at the Blue Water Area Rescue Mission (BWARM).

BWARM provides overnight shelter and support for homeless men in St. Clair County. As a Life Advisor, Heilman walks alongside guests facing some of life’s toughest challenges—offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support as they pursue stability and hope. His role blends mentorship with compassion, helping men navigate next steps toward personal growth and long-term change.

More than just providing a warm bed, Heilman and the BWARM team focus on restoring dignity and purpose to every individual who walks through their doors. Whether through one-on-one conversations or daily acts of service, Heilman’s presence reflects a mission rooted in faith, community, and second chances.
