Psalms 22
This psalm is the most quoted psalm in the Brit Hadasha. It is the most graphic picture in all of Scripture of what happened at the death of Yeshua. David was describing figuratively the depth of his own suffering; but his thoughts were so shaped by the Breath of the Father that they typify or prefigure, even in detail, many of the actual circumstances of Messiah's death.
As Isa. 53 describes the spiritual significance of Messiah's death, this psalm describes the historical event itself. The first part of this verse are also the words of Messiah on the stake. (Matt. 27:46).
This Psalm describes His brutal death and Him looking out at the crowd and seeing what was going through His mind as He dies for His people.
