Doom: The Dark Ages is one of the most anticipated games of 2025, and it's no wonder why. Doom has been a legendary IP since the very origins of gaming. John Carmack revolutionized the first-person shooter with the original ID engine in Doom. He did it again with the groundbreaking dynamic lighting engine of Doom 3.

After a few years of sepia-toned regenerative health and over a dozen Call of Duty clones, Doom returned from the depths of hell to revive the genre, bringing frenetic, fast-paced, strategic arena shooters to the modern age.

Doom isn't just an incredible franchise, it is an icon, one day to be spoken in the history books as one of the progenitors of an entire medium along with The Wizard of Oz, Moby Dick, Romeo & Juliet, and The Iliad.

Throughout the entirety of this legacy is one of the greatest gaming soundtracks to ever grace our speakers.

Robert Prince created the sound that defined our childhoods, that put to sound the sheer adrenaline of a demon-slaying high. Even through our crappy desktop speakers, and crunched up midi tracks, the electric energy of the tracks still got our heads banging.

Mick Gordon brought the iconic sound to a whole new level and gave Doom the voice it has today. It is one of the most commercially and critically well-received video game soundtracks and the de facto track to any self-respecting demon slayer.

Now we are in 2025, and the highly respected Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White of Finishing Move Inc. are taking the reins to bring the sound of a chainsaw shearing a Pinkie half to a new generation.
