Before the Mic: The Jobs That Built Me – Steve Harvey’s Journey from Survival to Spotlight

Y’all see the suits. The TV lights. The stages. But let me tell you what you don’t see…

The jobs I worked before I ever told a joke. I was a postman. A carpet cleaner. I worked construction, taught school, worked in a meatpacking plant. I boxed. I washed dishes. I did whatever it took to survive.

Every one of those jobs built me. They taught me how to show up — even when it was hard. They taught me that character matters more than talent. That God don’t waste nothing — not even a 3am shift or a job you can’t stand.

So if you’re in a season where it feels like you’re just clockin’ in and clockin’ out — keep going. That grind is preparing you for something greater. Your time is coming. Just don’t quit.

Success don’t start with the spotlight. It starts with faith, with hard work, and with believing that where you are now is just the beginning.

🛠️💼 Before the mic, there was the grind. Stay in it. 👊🏾
