Biblical Preservation

Hello, hi, howdy, hola, hey and welcome!

We are doing our live stream tonight because we are going to be gone at a conference in Ohio this weekend, so we won’t be around on Sunday to stream. What we are going to talk about today is Biblical Preservation. We are going to go through the Bible and look at what it says about the Word of the Lord being preserved and for how long.

Without further a due, let’s pray.....

Thank you for joining us tonight. This is going to be a good one.

How long do you think the Word of the Lord is going to be preserved for us?

How do we know this?

Let's see if we can’t find some scriptures to prove how long it is actually going to last....

Look with me in Isaiah.

Isaiah chapter 59 verse 20 and 21

[Isa 59:20-21 KJV] 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, (here it is talking about the second coming which is after the rapture) and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. 21 As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

So from this scripture we know that the words will be preserved at least into the second coming and generations after that. This tells me that it is still preserved right now because we haven’t gotten to that point yet, correct?

Well let’s not forget about the last words of the scripture here where it says from henceforth and what? henceforth and forever. sounds to me like it is talking like the Word of the Lord will be around..... forever?

Just in case I'm reading this incorrectly, let’s jump back to Isaiah 29

[Isa 29:18 KJV] 18 And in that day (the day of the second coming) shall the deaf hear the words (the words, the words on the pages of the Bible) of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

Alright, this is proof of it lasting into the second coming again. So we have provided a reference that it is going to last at least until the second coming and then we have provided a second reference. Let’s see if we can find someplace else where it says something longer.....

Let’s stay in Isaiah and look at chapter 40 and verse 8

[Isa 40:8 KJV] 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Blunt.

Plain and simple

No beating around the bush with this one. The world of our God shall stand for ever.

Period the end.

Ok one more verse in Isaiah.... let’s go to chapter 30

[Isa 30:8 KJV] 8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

Here God is telling Isaiah to write down the words that God has given to him in a book so that it may be for the time to come and for ever and ever.

It is to be for ever!

Ok ok, I'll let you get out of Isaiah now.

Let’s look at psalm 12:6-7

[Psa 12:6-7 KJV] 6 The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

THOU SHALT PRESERVE THEN FOR EVER!

How many examples to you need? How much proof do you need?

I know that people think that it doesn’t matter what version of the Bible you use, but it does! There is but one preserved word of God. If you use any other version there are contradictions and verses taken out or verses added to it. The KJV is the one preserved word of God because there will be one preserved perfect Word of God!

Look with me at psalm 33:11

[Psa 33:11 KJV] 11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

The counsel is in reference to His Word. So, the Word of the Lord standeth for ever.

The thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Look at Luke

[Luk 21:33 KJV] 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Words meaning the words on the page.

It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than it is for God’s words!

At this point, I would say that the Word of God is going to last forever. It isn’t going anywhere ever. If I was to guess, I would say that it is going to stand the test of time.

Here are just a few more quick ones for you....

[Psa 119:89, 152 KJV] 89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

[Psa 119:152 KJV] 152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.

[Psa 119:160 KJV] 160 Thy word [is] true [from] the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments [endureth] for ever.

[Mat 5:18 KJV] 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

One jot or tittle, those are the small markings in the jewish text.

[1Pe 1:23-25 KJV] 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh [is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Now, I think that we have covered enough verses. I think that we all get the point now. When somebody tells you that they don’t believe the Word of God is the same as what was used back centuries ago, just present some of these passages. It says through and through that the Word of the Lord is here and it is never going anywhere.
