The Hound of the Baskervilles- (Mystery / Suspense) - Hammer- 1959

Peter Cushing in one of his finest roles, and it is apparent that he relishes the part of Holmes. Showing the tenacity and many idiosyncrasies of Sherlock. Christopher Lee gets the rare chance to play the romantic lead and Andre Morell plays a very likeable and intelligent Watson. Hammer tries to make the story more visceral, including sacrificial rites, curved Druidic daggers and lots of Hammer style gore.
