We didn’t do real well just a few fish caught for several hours fishing, what we were after was crappie or blue gill for a meal but only found large mouth bass, they were fun though. Later we found the fish we were looking for hiding under the docking areas where they would not allow fishing. Lol just my luck! A little history below.

Table Rock Lake, a popular recreational lake in the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas, was created by the Table Rock Dam. Construction of the dam began in 1954 and was completed in 1958. The lake's name comes from a rock shelf that stood near the dam site. The lake's creation and subsequent development played a significant role in the tourism and recreation industry of the area, particularly in the town of Branson, Missouri.

Here's a more detailed look at the lake's history:

The dam and lake were primarily built for flood control and to generate hydroelectric power.

Construction of the dam was authorized in 1941 but was delayed by World War II, the Korean War, and the building of Bull Shoals Dam. Construction began in October 1954 and was completed in August 1958.

The lake's name comes from a prominent rock shelf located about 1 mile downstream from the dam site, according to Missouri State Parks.

The lake and its surrounding area have become a popular destination for recreation, including boating, fishing, swimming, and other water activities.

Missouri State Parks operates a state park on the east side of the lake, offering a variety of recreational opportunities.

The lake and the dam have been integral to the development of Branson's tourism industry, attracting visitors seeking entertainment and recreational activities.
