Jeremiah (the Suffering Servant) Vs. Israel

The Israelites treated Jeremiah horribly:

Jeremiah 26:8-9 "Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that YAH had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, You shall surely die. Why have you prophesied in the Name of YAH, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of YAH."

Jeremiah 37:15-16 "...the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison. When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;"

Jeremiah 38:6 "Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire."

Isaiah 53:4 "Surely he (Jeremiah) has borne our (Israel's) griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of YAH, and afflicted." Yes, Isaiah 53--YAH's suffering servant--is about Jeremiah. The book of Lamentations, written by Jeremiah is simultaneously about Jeremiah and Israel's afflictions; Jeremiah's lamentations are Israel's lamentations:

Lamentations 3:1-3 "I (Jeremiah/Israel) am the man who has experienced affliction from the rod of His wrath. He (YAH) drove me into captivity and made me walk in darkness and not light. He repeatedly attacks me, He turns His hand against me all day long."

Lamentations 3:52-53 "Without cause my enemies hunted me like a bird. They dropped me (Jeremiah/Israel) alive into a pit and cast stones upon me."

The Israelites were and still are notorious for being hostile toward servants of YAH but kindly toward His/their enemies. "Wherefore will you (Israel) plead with Me? You all have transgressed against Me, says YAH. In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion. O generation, see you the word of YAH. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? A land of darkness? Wherefore say My people (Israel), We are masters; we will come no more unto You? Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number." (Jeremiah 2:29-32) But YAH always recognizes the faithful children of Israel who honor Him and the covenant we've made with Him; for example, when YAH was about to destroy Jerusalem, "YAH said unto him (the angel), Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go you after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have you pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary...." (Ezekiel 9:4) This is a perfect example of how YAH recognizes and makes a distinction between the Israelites who care and those who don't. Deuteronomy 30:3-7 "...YAH your Father will turn your captivity, and have compassion upon you (Israel), and will return and gather you from all the nations, whither YAH your Father has scattered you. If any of you be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will YAH your Father gather you, and from thence will He fetch you: and YAH your Father will bring thee into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will do thee good, and multiply you above your fathers. And YAH your Father will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love YAH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live. And YAH your Father will put all these curses upon your enemies, and on them that hate you, which persecuted you. (Deuteronomy 30:3-7) This is why Psalms 68:1 is first applied to the scattering of the Israelites/black slave descendants; then, it is used again to apply to the future scattering of YAH's enemies, the gentiles.
