Everyone said it was a noble quest,
A job that would change the world for the better.
So I set out on this mission,
With hope and ambition,
But here's a lesson I had to remember:

If you're thinking about shaping minds and hearts,
Here's a warning before you even start:

Don’t be a teacher!
Don’t do it!
Quickest way to lose your spark.
Don’t be a teacher!
Not worth it!
Your paycheck’s always stark.

The work is exhausting, the hours are long,
They’ll blame you for everything that's wrong.
You’ll burn out faster than a preacher—
Don’t be a teacher!

Endless grading,
Constant complaining,
Is this what you dreamed of as a kid?
Or did you hope one day,
That you'd lead the way,
In a classroom full of kids who never listen or give a… darn?

It’s not too late
To avoid this fate,
Try plumbing or mechanics!

Sure, they’ll tell you it’s a noble career,
But “noble” doesn’t cover rent or beer.

Don’t be a teacher!
Believe me,
The system will crush your soul.
Don’t be a teacher!
Trust me,
You’ll never feel whole.

Don’t be a teacher!
You’ll regret it.
The burnout is way too real.
Don’t be a teacher!
You’ll wish you’d gone into steel.

There are so many other professions
That don’t involve constant depressions.
Just say no to this so-called “feature.”
Don’t. Be. A teacher.
While your students sleep in,
Writing lesson plans ‘til your brain decays.

Oh, and forget about career progression—
Tenure takes years, full of stress and suppression.
You’ll deal with parents who swear their kid’s a saint,
When you know they’re the reason you drink to escape.

If you think that teaching’s a creative endeavor,
Here’s a harsh truth you’ll remember forever:

It’s a scam,
No respect from anyone.
Don’t be a teacher!
Every year,
They'll cut your budget for fun.

The politicians will say you’re lazy and slow,
While they funnel your funding to CEOs.
You'll dream of quitting, like a leaver—
Don’t be a teacher!

Classroom chaos,
Constant layoffs,
Is this the career you always dreamed?
Or did you hope someday
You’d have students obey,
Instead of livestreaming your meltdowns on the Internet meme?

Oh, and discipline? You’d better tread lightly,
'Cause parents will sue if you don’t act politely.
The system is broken, the pay is too small,
And no one supports you when you start to fall.

You’ll spend years chasing scraps.

By year five,
You’ll dream of taking naps.

The kids are ungrateful, the admin’s a mess,
You’ll wish you’d done anything else for success.
They’ll chew you up, leave you weaker—

Sure, you might think you’ll be the one to succeed,
Inspiring kids to read and achieve.
But here’s the reality,
Plain and stark:
Most will forget you once they leave the park.

So don’t do it, don’t sign up, don’t take the bait,
Save yourself from the classroom fate!

No savings,
No way to escape the grind.
Don’t be a teacher!
It’s draining,
You’ll leave your health behind.
