The man was shot during an Anti-Extortion Unit operation in Chaguanas, where police recovered a 'one-pop' shot gun.
Police say around 4:30 am, officers attached to the Anti-Extortion Unit, while on operational duty in a marked police vehicle, proceeded to a residence along Soogrim Trace off Endeavour Road.
Upon arrival at the location, officers announced their presence and attempted to apprehend the suspect, “Aki”. However, the suspect reportedly opened fire on the approaching officers who returned fire and struck him.
