Whispers from the Glass

Every night, David stood before his bathroom mirror, a broken man drowning in failure. His reflection stared back, hollow-eyed and defeated, until one evening, something changed. The mirror whispered back, its voice like autumn leaves scraping against glass. 'You're stuck because you chose to be.' David's heart nearly stopped. He tried convincing himself it was imagination, but each night, the mirror returned with new horrors. It showed him visions of a wasted future - his dreams turned to ash, his coffin forgotten and alone. The mirror's whispers grew harsher, more insistent: 'You fear change more than you fear me.' Terrified but desperate, David finally listened. He started small - waking earlier, reading more, applying for jobs. Slowly, his reflection changed. Where fear once lived, determination took root. Months later, standing before the mirror, successful and debt-free, David whispered, 'Thank you.' The mirror remained silent, its work complete.
