A senior Republican congressman has acknowledged that his marriage was officiated by an Islamic scholar linked to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., wed his soon-to-be ex-wife, Rana Al Saadi, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Iraq, in 2014. The ceremony was conducted by Mohammad Al-Hanooti at the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia.
Al-Hanooti served as the center’s imam from 1995 to 1999 and was highly regarded in the Washington, D.C., Islamic community, according to CAIR.
