Welcome to album review Tuesdays here on the channel and tonight we are doing a review of an absolute thrash metal classic with Metallica-Ride The Lightning released in 1984 on Megaforce Records.

Now for those of you living under a rock you should know that Metallica are one of the pioneering bands of the first wave of thrash metal and theyre one of the most legendary and longest standing acts in the fucking genre.

However after 1989 the band took a drastic dive into mediocrity with more of a hard rock radio friendly approach which is very unfortunate. One of the things that I think contributed to their downslide was the death of their legendary bassist Cliff Burton in 1986 who in my eyes is the best metal bassist of all time. R.I.P. Ciiff we all love and miss you brother. They have influenced so many upcoming thrash bands over the years that its incredible.
