The Big Beautiful Bill that Bans AI Regulation for 10 Years

On page 291 of the 1,116 page bill that just passed the House, in the section titled “Artificial Intelligence & Information Technology Modernization Initiative” you will find very broad language that bans states from regulating AI and shields tech companies from liability, if their AI products were to cause harm or infringe on privacy rights, much like the vaccine liability shields that are in place with big harma.

“No State or political subdivision thereof may enforce any law or regulation regulating artificial intelligence models… during the 10-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.”
—Sec. 43201(c)(1) of the bill

While there are many appealing aspects of the bill, such as no tax on tips or auto loan interest, etc, we much not make concessions for a line item that really should not even be included in a budget bill.

Some argue that AI Regulation stifles innovation. Others argue there are privacy rights and potential harms that can be caused from lack of regulation and strip states rights in the process.

There is a solution- request from our senators to remove this section of the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ and explain EXACTLY what they are trying to do and what regulations are getting in the way.
