It may be very tiring to hear, but the litany, "FOLLOW THE MONEY", holds true in virtually all endeavors of governing bodies in any location and in any time. The so-called democratic republic of the United States of America is no exception. Some may point to the second world war as the starting point to the rise of the corporate behemoth that the US has become, but that ignores a long history of wealth seeking ventures.
