The Illusion Called South Vietnam

After all these years, I am amazed by the ignorance of breathing humans in the US who know absolutely nothing about the conditions before World War 2 in "Indo-China". Without this knowledge you are stuck believing the storyline of the "threat of communism" that the con men in Washington broadcast in every possible form and through every possible venue. Even here, in Carlton Meyer's well spoken history, there is no mention of the mafia-like corruption by provisional "bosses" that constrained the populace from making any progress toward a stable life.
