Apatros Review Ep-0158: I Married A Monster [1998 UPN Telepic]

AR-0158: In the late 1990s, Paramount set up UPN, a special network that provided programming at certain times during a week. This network lasted from 1995 to 2006.

While they broadcast some Paramount TV shows, a good deal of UPN content comprised of telepics [television movies], almost entirely based in the science fiction genre. As these also saw broadcast on Australian cable TV, I happened to have seen a good number of them.

This particular one is the worst of the UPN telepics I have seen so far, a very-late-in-the-game remake of an old 1950s alien invasion cult classic where a group of alien passport bros arrive on Earth to find true love [& the chance to make babies] amongst the local women. To accomplish this, they abduct some of the local men and borrow their likeness so they can play house with their hosts' spouses. One of the women, however, ain't too keen on the idea...

Unlike most of the UPN films, which tend to be enjoyable and surprisingly good for their nature, this particular film has a somewhat botched execution and the script isn't as polished as it should be. A rare misfire for UPN.

My Grade: D [Bad]
