Memorial Day

This week LA hosted three branches of the United States Armed Services in anticipation of Memorial Day.

Today I light a candle for my grandfather who served in Guadalcanal in the United States Navy.

Fleet Week is an annual public event hosted by the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, in which active military ships, recently deployed in overseas operations, dock in various major cities for a week.

During this week, the public can tour the ships, participate in military demonstrations and air shows, and interact with service members.
