The root of the kava plant is ground, soaked, and strained into a drink that's been consumed ceremonially and socially for thousands of years in places like Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Hawaii. Kava is a natural, calming drink made from a Pacific Island root that relaxes the body and mind — like a chill, safe, herbal alternative to anti-anxiety meds, with thousands of years of tradition behind it. People use kava to relax the body, calm the mind, and connect with others—whether that’s for stress relief, sleep, social bonding, or spiritual grounding. The name kava is from Tongan and Marquesan, meaning 'bitter'. A meta analysis conducted in 2011 found that kava was significantly more effective than placebo in reducing anxiety symptoms.
