Durango’s Notorious Kangaroo Caught Hopping Through Town—Again!

On May 26, 2025, at approximately 11:11 PM PDT, Durango Police Department received a call reporting a kangaroo loose in a residential backyard. The subject, previously identified as a repeat escapee and local viral sensation, was observed hopping through town before entering private property.

Officers responded promptly to the scene. The kangaroo, notably larger since its last encounter with authorities, was safely wrangled and secured. Ofc. Garrison led the containment effort, demonstrating exceptional skill in handling and lifting the animal to ensure its safe return to appropriate custody.
