Written by Robots? The Indie Publishing Controversy Explained
Some indie authors published books with the AI writing prompts still in them (accidentally).
I don't like this.
One of the author prompts was to write the text to sound like another author.
Not only does this seem unethical and lazy, but it’s kind of sad.
The author doesn’t trust her own voice!
But I have used AI - not to write my books or Substacks, but to transcribe my videos into blogs on my website, to research my books, and to get me a start on writing other marketing content.
But that's the thing- AI is CONTENT.
We are losing something beautiful when ALL we consume is content, vs. something thoughtful or provocative (or at least written by someone with a soul).
Content and AI aren't going away.
But I think we should be mindful about how we use and consume them.
