DAY EIGHTEEN || CAMINO DE SANTIAGO (2025)

Pardon the wind noise disturbance. It was cold, extremely windy and miserable for walking and filming.

My sinuses have taken a beating on this pilgrimage from cold wind/rain and allergies.

A highlight of the walk from Hospital de Orbigo to Astorga, was the gorgeous donativo spot: Garden of the Soul.

I played with cats, kittens and dogs, ate and drank good food, coffee and orange juice and enjoyed the vibe.

The prior night was rough; so cold and one of the worst tombs for chainsaw snorers.

Never got to my coveted siesta due to the Kiwi pilgrims.

They’re very nice people, but they’ve gone nose deaf and they highly annoy all the other pilgrims who sleep in close proximity.

I got hot boxed by them in a closet of a room with no ventilation; as per their norm, they pulled out all their dirty laundry and scattered it around the room vs. take outside and wash/dry like normal pilgrims.

The Camino collective has given them a nickname: “Stinky Kiwi’s”

The town of Astorga is charming and it was my third time to visit and explore.

The public albergue in the town has one of thee best views from its terrace.
