Are we SAFER because CT shelters illegal alien arrestees?

CT's self-imposed status as a "sanctuary state" for illegal aliens PROHIBITS local law enforcement from communicating with federal authorities regarding the immigration status of someone who is arrested. In effect, it hides them from the process. And this somehow makes us safer? I think not.
