On Thursday, May 22, 2025, at an unspecified time, a bobcat wandered into a home in Ken Caryl, Colorado, prompting a call to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The wildcat, described as an "unusual intruder," had cozied up behind a TV, seemingly unfazed by its surroundings. Deputies arrived at the scene and initially tried to coax the bobcat out with verbal prompts, with one deputy heard saying, "Hi, kitty, kitty!" and "Yo, guys, look at this thing."
Hoping to lure the bobcat out, deputies used the green laser from a TASER device, expecting the feline to chase it like a domestic cat might. However, the bobcat was unimpressed, ignoring the laser entirely.

Homeowner:
“Ok everyone, this is my house and this happened last Thursday. I (stupidly) left my door unlatched because my cat meatball was still out and can swing on the handle and open the door and let himself back in, and I wanted to go to bed. Woke up at 4am to crashing and banging and came face to face with this guy. My fault - learned my lesson! He was probably chasing Meatball inside.”
