Timeline of Starvation
Dozens of Palestinians have starved to death in Gaza due to Israel’s total blockade on the enclave since it broke the ceasefire in early March. These are the key events that have led to the humanitarian crisis.
On World Hunger Day, Palestinians continue to starve in Gaza, a day after a chaotic rush on an Israeli- and US-backed distribution point delivering the first aid since Israel’s March blockade. Some Israelis oppose even this minimal relief. Here's what they’ve been saying.
For months, aid groups have warned starvation is becoming a central weapon in Israel’s war on Gaza. Now, an Al Jazeera investigation has revealed that dozens of community kitchens that are lifelines for displaced Palestinians, have been systematically targeted in Israeli air strikes.

For months, aid groups have warned that starvation is being used as a weapon of war in Gaza. Now, an Al Jazeera investigation has uncovered that dozens of community kitchens—essential for feeding civilians—have been systematically targeted in Israeli air strikes.

The UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) says its warehouse in central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah has been broken into by hungry people “in search of food supplies” that were going to be distributed.
WFP said preliminary reports indicate that at least two people died and several others were injured in the incident, but that it is still confirming the details of what happened.
“Humanitarian needs have spiraled out of control after 80 days of complete blockade of all food assistance and other aid into Gaza,” the agency said, adding that it has warned of “the risks imposed by limiting humanitarian aid to hungry people in desperate need of assistance”.
WFP called for an immediate increase in assistance. “This is the only way to reassure people that they will not starve,” it said.

The United Nations says it's ready and able to deliver life-saving aid to Gaza - but it's being blocked by Israel - allegations Israel denies. The UN received the backing of many member states during a Security Council briefing on Wednesday, which highlighted the desperate conditions on the ground.
