Cris Dans La Rue

This piece, composed by Federico Mompou, was written somewhere between 1915 and 1918, as part of his Scénes d'enfantes (Scenes of Children). This piece, as with most of his pieces, is unique because of its lack of rigid structure. There are few bar lines, no time signature, and no pedal suggestions, leading a pianist to almost improvise the needed subtleties of the song. This style creates a nostalgic feel, the sort of melancholy delicacy for which Mompou is most known. Enjoy!
