Balcony Serenade

This smooth piece was written by Billy Strayhorn in the mid 1960's. The song was performed by Duke Ellington's band, thereby making most people attribute it to Duke. However, as with many of Ellington's songs, Billy was the mastermind behind the melody. This song, along with many of Duke's greatest hits, like "Take the 'A' Train" and "Such Sweet Thunder", were composed either entirely by Billy, or were a collaboration between Strayhorn and Duke.
