(I voted 3 times for Trump and expected that he would do a lot to get us out of the forever wars and focus on rebuilding our country. Unfortunately, along with other knowledgeable observers, I'm questioning his understanding of many international issues. It has become obvious that he really doesn't understand the history and issues behind many of the key issues in the world. Part of the problem is that many of the people in his administration are withholding critical information and he hasn't developed adequate personal knowledge to compensate for this.

Without going into details yet again, it has become clear that he didn't understand the history behind the conflict that developed in Ukraine. In fact it was the US, NATO, UK & Europe who set this in motion after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. The root causes of the Ukrainian conflict have been known for many years and should have been known to Trump before the SMO started in Feb 2022. Since the US has had the leading role in NATO for a long time, the US has taken the lead to expand NATO right up to the Russian border, which Russia has warned about for a long time. To be blunt, the US is the primary cause of the conflict in Ukraine, not Russia.
