Rian Johnson and James Mangold ABANDON Star Wars Projects

No one is prioritizing working with Lucasfilm to create a project in the Star Wars universe any more. Tony Gilroy was the last creative to be given the opportunity and the future is stuffed to the brim with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau playing with Clone Wars action figures and writing Fan Fiction.

James Mangold, who was supposed to be working on a Dawn of the Jedi movie, has pushed down a Lucasfilm return to the bottom of his list. Rian Johnson was given the go ahead on a trilogy in 2017 and recently indicated that a return to the franchise he effectively murdered will be an "if" as opposed to a "when."

It's never been so over for Star Wars.
