Last Date, released in Floyd Cramer's 1960 album of the same name, was an instant hit in America, gaining rapid attention because of its relatively new "slip note" style. In addition to being a session pianist for most of his life, Cramer released several albums and singles, most of which were nationally recognized. Last Date was by far his most popular record, rising to number two on the "Billboard Hot 100" pop chart. It was beat only by "Are You Lonesome Tonight?". Interestingly, Floyd Cramer was Elvis's session pianist for that recording as well. Enjoy!
