People Are Trained to Go to the Doctor and Comply—Americans Average 280–300 Outpatient Doctor Visits in Their Lifetime!

"Health Series: Antibiotics: What You Need to Know"

By Jennifer Walters, BSN, RN, PHN, MFA

In the Solari Report’s “scenarios for 2025,” the most positive scenario is what we call the “Building Wealth Blueprint”—in which we benefit from a resilient jurisdiction with reliable food and energy and are able to respond inventively to change. This begins with good health.

Unfortunately, infection threats often send people running into the arms of the allopathic doctors and hospital systems that are killing people at an alarming rate. For that reason, returning guest Dr. Sam Bailey and her husband, Dr. Mark Bailey, join me this week to tackle the topic of antibiotics. U.S. health care providers hand out an astounding 236 million antibiotic prescriptions annually just to outpatients (not even counting hospitalized or emergency room [ER] patients), while prominent health freedom leaders scare people into purchasing $300 “Emergency Kits” to stockpile antibiotics. Although telemedicine may be safer than heading into the local ER when you have a cough or fever, purchasing a bunch of drugs with horrific side effects for “What if?” scenarios isn’t the answer.

When I was a nursing student, I noticed early on that the experienced RNs who served as our preceptors were uneasy when told to administer antibiotics. They would often confirm with the pharmacist and doctor that the patient really needed it before they would agree to administer it. Some antibiotics were so dangerous that I wasn’t allowed to give them until I had my own RN license. My preceptor did not buy into the party line about antibiotics, saying “Antibiotics are not miracles—it’s a miracle that our patients survive these drugs!” At the time, it was shocking to learn that nurses thought antibiotics were as dangerous as opioids or chemo, but now that I have 20 years of experience myself, I can honestly say that I agree. People are being poisoned more than helped.
