Lipton Onion Burgers on the Blackstone Griddle

Taking a trip down memory lane with a nostalgic summer favorite—vintage Lipton Onion Burgers just like Mom used to make in the 80s. Made by Todd on the Blackstone griddle with a crispy sear, melty cheese, and served on a classic onion roll. Have you ever tried one? Let us know!

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
1/2 packet Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup & Dip Mix
1/4 cup plain dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Blackstone’s Essential Blend seasoning
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 onion rolls
Green leaf lettuce
1 small onion, sliced
Ketchup
Mustard

Directions
1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle to high heat.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, half a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
3. Divide the mixture evenly and form into four burger patties, about 4 ounces each.
4. Lightly oil the hot griddle surface. Place the patties on the griddle and season the tops with Blackstone’s Essential Blend.
5. Press down on each patty gently using a spatula to achieve a good sear. After a few minutes, flip the patties and season the other side. Continue cooking until the burgers are almost done.
6. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. To melt the cheese, spray a bit of water on the griddle and cover the burgers with a basting cover or use the griddle hood.
7. Place the onion rolls cut side down on the griddle to toast them. Once golden brown, remove from heat.
8. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a leaf of lettuce, a cooked burger patty with melted cheese, a few onion slices, a squirt of ketchup, and a touch of mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
9. Serve and enjoy!
