Left Behind After the Storm: A Call for Help in Flint’s 4th Ward

Ward. A storm knocked down a large tree weeks ago, taking out power and internet. Consumers Energy and Xfinity got the lines fixed fast—but they left behind a mess.

Now, tree limbs and debris still block the sidewalk and grassy area. The elderly resident who lives here can’t clean it up and can’t afford to hire help.

This is a failure of the system. We fix the wires but ignore the people. This neighbor deserves better. The 4th Ward deserves better. Where’s the follow-up? Where’s the help?
