Day 175 - Boring For Water

We finally have water! I say finally because it took 53 days from the time I paid for the meter to the day the meter was installed. BUT...I'm not too upset about it. I understand things happen. If there's one piece of advice I can give anyone about a new property journey like ours, it's to expect delays from machines and equipment. That is the case with the water delay.

Before the meter was set we trenched and installed 1335' of pipe. Unfortunately, the meter was not set before rain from Hurricane Helene hit. Thankfully, we got no damage and nowhere near the amount of rain that was dumped east of us in Georgia and the Carolinas. We did have one section of pipe float and a fair bit of the dirt collapse and flood the trench. Not a huge deal, but a decent amount of time to play in the mud.
