Have mercy on me, O God, according to your great mercy, and according to the multitude of your compassions, blot out my iniquity.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my iniquity, and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight, that you may be justified in your words, and you may prevail when you are judged.
For behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
For behold, you have truly loved the things that are manifest, and you have made known to me the hidden things of your wisdom.
You sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed; you wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
You hear me with joy and gladness; the bones that are humbled rejoice.
Turn away your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a spirit of power.
I will teach transgressors your ways, and the wicked will return to you.
Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
For if you desired sacrifice, I offered it; you will not delight in burnt offerings.
A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a heart broken and a contrite one, God will not despise.
O Lord, in your favor be gracious to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built.
Then you will be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, with burnt offerings and with offerings of praise.
Then bulls will be offered on your altar, and God will have mercy on me.
