When the notification officers showed up,

I thought they were recruiters.

“Don’t they know my boys are already in the Army?”

That’s when I knew something wasn’t right.

They walked in, gave the standard message:

“On behalf of the Secretary of the Army, we regret to inform you…”

My son was killed in combat.
