1061 1 Tim.1.1-11 Guard the Gospel, Not Speculation

Paul urges Timothy to guard the gospel in Ephesus by confronting false teachers promoting myths and speculative doctrines. Such teachings lead away from faith and love. Instead, Paul calls for love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. The Law exposes sin, but is not a vehicle to gain merit with God. Sound doctrine must be preserved to protect the church and uphold the truth handed down by the apostles.
