Gameplay Part 2

BioShock 2 provides players with the perfect blend of explosive first-person shooter combat and compelling award-winning storytelling. The halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.

In this playthrough we cover:

Level 5: Siren Alley:
Delta descends into Siren Alley, once Rapture’s red-light district, now a flooded maze of broken dreams and religious fervor. This decaying neighborhood is under the grip of Father Simon Wales, a deranged preacher and one of Sofia Lamb’s most devoted followers. As Delta navigates the drowned chapels and pleasure dens, he uncovers Wales’s twisted sermons and discovers how Lamb turned religion into a weapon to control the desperate. Throughout the level, Delta must drain floodwaters, fend off waves of fanatical Splicers, and confront Wales himself in a flooded church. The showdown ends in a desperate battle as Wales tries to trap Delta underwater, but Delta survives—another step closer to Eleanor, and another crack in Lamb’s cult-like hold over Rapture’s survivors.

Level 6: Dionysus Park:
Dionysus Park, once a hub for artists and free-thinkers, now lies frozen in time—a tomb of shattered ideals and sculptures turned grotesque monuments. The area was sealed off by its eccentric curator, Stanley Poole, a former journalist with ties to Lamb and a guilty conscience. As Delta explores the park’s galleries, he learns that Poole once betrayed Eleanor to gain Lamb’s favor, leading to her imprisonment and Delta’s near-death. Stanley, now hiding in fear, begs Delta for mercy while manipulating him to eliminate remaining witnesses to his crimes. After Delta gathers enough ADAM to progress, he’s given the choice to either kill or spare Stanley, another moment that tests the player’s sense of justice in a city long devoid of it.

Level 7: Fontaine Futuristics:
Delta arrives at Fontaine Futuristics, the former heart of Rapture’s Plasmid research and the current domain of Dr. Gilbert Alexander, a once-brilliant scientist reduced to a monstrous AI known as “Alex the Great.” As Delta fights through the facility’s high-security labs, he pieces together Alexander’s transformation through audio diaries—learning that he opposed Lamb’s experimentations on Eleanor and was punished by being turned into a grotesque, rambling overseer of his own domain. Guided by fragmented recordings of his former self, Alexander helps Delta disable the facility’s defenses and access critical upgrades for Eleanor’s eventual rescue. In the end, Delta is given another moral test: to destroy or spare what’s left of Alexander, who pleads for release from his torment. This level marks a turning point, as Delta gains the tools needed to take on Lamb and free Eleanor once and for all.
