As an instructor of Jeet Kune Do ( Sigong Bruce Lee's Method of Self Reflection ) I saw great potential in the Filipino fighting art known as "Pekiti Tirsia Kali" which made me to look at things from a different perspective like disarming some one with a stick whether striking the elbow with your tip of your stick or snaking the weapon hand, throwing in a JKD sliding leverage strike to the face while maintaining an elbow control, an uppercut with the butt of the stick then your elbow, kick to the groin, and a takedown. Though I'm NOT a certified instructor in PTK, I was blessed to have studied directly under Grand Tuhon Supremo Leo T. Gaje in Houston, Texas back in the 1980's along with his student Tuhon William McGrath. As a self defense instructor I had to incorporate what I had learned from these two (2 very knowledgeable gentlemen. I'd like to personally thank my student Paul for putting up with me during demonstrating one of my Sigong Bruce Lee's quotes that really applies in real life self defense experiences... "DON'T THINK!!! FEEL..."
