Sinking barge may finally move

The saga of the sinking barge in Grand Traverse Bay could be coming to an end. Five years ago, Don Balcom's barge sank in the shallows of the Bay. Since then, it’s been floated and sank several times. Balcom pled guilty last year to violating Michigan's water resources protection statute was given 12 months to move the barge. It hasn’t! Now Balcom says he has a buyer that should get the boat moved to meet the one-year deadline. David Barr Michigan News Source.
