Dr. Kelly Victory: Obama’s ban on gain-of-function research incited relocation to Chinese labs

Dr. Kelly Victory, chief of disaster and emergency medicine at The Wellness Company, says former President Barack Obama ending gain-of-function research on U.S. soil wasn’t enough. “But it turns out that that research continued during the years after the moratorium, largely because it was simply transferred over to labs in China,” she says. “And that is where the COVID-19 virus emanated from. It was created in a lab in Wuhan, but it was created largely with U.S. taxpayer dollars that were funneled over there so that that research could continue despite the fact that it had been banned in this country.”
