Fort Meigs, National Historic Site

Fort Meigs situated on the MAumee River in Ohio, withstood two sieges by the British during the War of 1812. Led by General Proctor and supported by Tecumseh they besieged General William Harrison's Army on May 1, 1813 and inflicted a heavy defeat on Colonel William Dudley's relief force. The 2nd siege in July 1813 faired no better.
